Charlotte Wastney

I am the weekend hatchery technician for Cawthron Aquaculture Park. This means I get to look after the platform’s shellfish while the main technicians get to have some days off – no pressure!

I am finishing up a degree in Aquaculture and Marine Conservation at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, in Nelson. I have studied this alongside working the weekends at Cawthron for the last few years, which has been a rewarding challenge.

I love getting hands on, working with animals and being in the outdoors, so I have enjoyed my time spent in the industry so far.
