Hannah Appleton

I joined Cawthron’s Aquaculture group in 2021 as a casual Technician while completing my final year of my Bachelor of Aquaculture and Marine Conservation. Once completing my studies, I joined full-time as the Ponds Technician and have since moved to do Technician work at Cawthron’s Aquatic Biocontainment Laboratory, Te Wero Aro-anamata. This role has given me the opportunity to be involved in many interesting shellfish studies, including anti-biofouling bioassays, vaccine validation trials, ecotoxicology bioassays, emerging aquatic disease trials, feed trials, microplastic studies, heat tolerance trials and so much more.
