Research Assistant - Cawthron Institute
Fish and shellfish physiology and feed conversion efficiency
I first joined Cawthron in 2009 as a technician in the microalgae culture collection as my after-school job. I left to go to university but returned to Cawthron in 2018 to carry out my PhD looking at mechanisms underlying feed conversion ratio (FCR) and how to improve FCR in Chinook salmon.
After submitting my PhD in May 2023 I began working as a general technician in the Aquaculture team where I have worked with a variety of shellfish, including Green lipped mussels, Pacific oysters, geoduck, scallops and pāua.
